David Hansen: Author The Art of Pastoring

Our walk through the wilderness is subject to the agenda of providence. This can be dangerous and delightful—often it is both. But the crucial feature of wilderness wandering is being out of control.
— David Hansen

Occasionally, people recommend books to me that make a deep impact on my life and I pass them along to younger men. David Hansen's book The Art of Pastoring is a book that has become a staple in my discussions these young ministers whom I get the privilege of mentoring. In our next episode, we talk to David about ministry burnout, wrestling with our faith, and God using nature to give us clarity. Our conversation with David is a warm discussion about the value of going for walks to work out struggles in life. The Storied Outdoors is honored to have David Hansen join us for this gentle conversation of wisdom and honesty.

When we asked what his next adventure would be, David shared his new found love for Birding and capturing them with his camera. He shared a few of his latest shots with us.

Much of our conversations revolved around the incredible value of going for a walk. Long walks filled with time for prayer and reflection helped David navigate some of the most pivotal moments in his life. We are grateful for the time he spent with us and hope you enjoy this conversation.
